Workingman's Dead is the fourth studio album by the American rock band the Grateful Dead, released on June 14, 1970, by Warner Bros. Records. Driven by heavy financial debt, a recent drug bust, and the sobering aftermath of the Altamont Music Festival, the band abandoned its trademark psychedelic experimentation in favour of a stripped-down, Americana, folk, and country-rock sound. Recorded in just nine days at San Francisco's Pacific High Recording Studio.
Warner Bros.-Pioneer started the "Rock Age" promotional campaign in 1971, these releases feature a special delicate die-cut obi strip with the official "Rock Age" logo. This specific style of obi was attached to albums issued between May and August 1971. Early pressings can feature a rare blue label promo design such as this copy.

But with confidence. The descriptions on condition are conservative. All the album covers are exceptional. The media is too. One of the albums has more pop and scratch than the appearance warrants, but if you are into vinyl, pop and scratch are an authentic part of the sound.
