One of the defining West Coast albums, this record took the G-funk blueprint Dr. Dre laid on The Chronic and pushed it to the next level. Snoop’s laid-back drawl and effortless flow made every track memorable, from party anthems like “Gin and Juice” and “Who Am I (What’s My Name)?” to deeper cuts like “Murder Was the Case” and “Tha Shiznit.” Dre’s production is lush and funky throughout, with Parliament samples and thick basslines setting the mood. A landmark debut that set the standard for ’90s West Coast rap and remains one of the most iconic albums of the era.
