This album is anchored by “Made You Look,” one of the greatest singles of Nas’s career and a straight-up classic of the era. “Get Down” set the tone with one of his hardest openers, while “I Can” became an unexpected positive hit that reached kids and crossed over without watering down his message. Production from Salaam Remi, The Alchemist, and others keeps the record balanced between street heat and smoother moments, making it one of the strongest albums of his 2000s run.
