The Jurassic 5 EP is the group’s breakout early release, introducing the Los Angeles crew before their full-length debut. Production from Cut Chemist and DJ Nu-Mark centers on looping samples and steady drums, keeping the focus on group interaction and structure. “Concrete Schoolyard” is the defining track, built around a simple hook and call-and-response format that translated immediately to radio and live shows. The EP established Jurassic 5’s core approach early and set the template for their later releases.
