All but two of these beats were laced by DJ Premier, in what many consider to be some of his finest production. If you’re looking at this, you’re probably here for the beats more than the rhymes—moody, layered cuts that rank among the best in Premo’s mid-’90s run. Lil’ Dap and Melachi hold down the mic, but it’s tracks like “Supa Star,” “Livin’ Proof,” and “Suspended in Time” that cement this as a Premier showcase.
