Debut solo album from the EPMD member carried over the funk-heavy bounce that made the duo famous, while giving Sermon space to show his production skills and low-key vocal style. It’s an extension of the EPMD formula, with cuts like “Stay Real” and “Safe Sex” combining humor, grooves, and East Coast swagger. Not a radical departure, but a strong first statement on his own.
