Don’t Sweat the Technique is the fourth and final studio album by Eric B. & Rakim, released in 1992 after the duo had already reshaped the sound of late-80s hip-hop. The production continues their use of jazz, soul, and funk samples, paired with harder drums and a slightly faster tempo than earlier releases. The title track, “Don’t Sweat the Technique,” leads the album with a stripped, bass-driven beat, while “Know the Ledge,” originally recorded for the Juice soundtrack, brings a narrative edge tied directly to the film. Songs like “Casualties of War” and “Teach the Children” focus on war, poverty, and social responsibility rather than battle themes. The album closes the Eric B. & Rakim run, released shortly before the duo split the following year.
