A double album that split Cypress Hill’s personality in two — Skull for their classic smoky hip-hop sound, Bones for the rap-rock crossover that took them to new crowds. The first disc keeps their trademark haze and heavy low end intact, while the second taps into the late-’90s metal boom with live guitars and aggressive energy. “Rock Superstar” and “(Rap) Superstar” mirrored each other as companion hits, helping the group stay relevant in both worlds. A bold move that expanded their reach without losing the core Cypress vibe.
